ABOUT
Welcome to Wills Creek
Whether you are new to church, exploring faith, or looking for a church family, Wills Creek is a place where you can connect, grow, serve, and share the gospel of Jesus Christ. Our desire is to help people know Jesus and grow in their faith.

Our Story & Purpose
Wills Creek began in August of 2016, when a group of believers launched a new church in Gadsden, Alabama with a heart to reach the community with the gospel. What started with a launch team and quickly grew into a church family committed to Christ-centered community, biblical teaching, and faithful discipleship. This mission continues to guide everything we do as a church and is lived out through four key commitments reflected in our logo.
- We SERVE others using the gifts God has given us to care for the church and community.
- We SHARE the good news of Jesus with our families, community, and the world.
- We SHARE the good news of Jesus with our families, community, and the world.

- We help people CONNECT to Jesus and to a community of believers.
- We encourage spiritual GROWTH through God’s Word, discipleship, and small groups.

Everything we do at Wills Creek flows from our vision of people leading people to life in Christ. We help people connect, grow, serve, and share the gospel as they follow Jesus.

What We Believe
Wills Creek is a Southern Baptist Church and our beliefs are rooted in the truth of Scripture. While the Bible itself is our final authority, the Baptist Faith & Message helps summarize what we believe about God, salvation, the church, and the Christian life.
The Scriptures
We believe the entire Bible is the inspired word of God and that men were moved by the Spirit of God to write the very words of Scripture. Therefore, we believe the Bible is without error.
God
We believe in one God who exists in three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe that Jesus Christ is the second member of the Trinity (the Son of God), who became flesh to reveal God to humanity and to become the Savior of the lost world.
Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, fully God and fully man. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, and perfectly obeyed the Father. He died on the cross for our sins, was buried, and rose bodily from the dead on the third day. He ascended into heaven and now reigns at the right hand of the Father. He is the only Savior and will return in power and glory.
The Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit is fully God and works in the world to bring people to salvation. He convicts of sin, gives new life, and lives in every believer. He guides, comforts, and strengthens believers to live godly lives. He gives spiritual gifts to build up the church and helps believers grow in Christ.
The Church
We believe that the church is a local body of baptized believers who are joined together by covenant in the faith and fellowship of the gospel. The church follows Christ’s commands, observes His ordinances, and seeks to carry out His mission. Each church is led under the Lordship of Christ, and every member is responsible to Him. The church is served by pastors/elders and deacons.
Salvation & Baptism
We believe salvation is found through faith in Jesus Christ alone. Because of sin, humanity is separated from God, but through Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection, forgiveness and new life are offered to all who repent and believe.
We believe baptism is the immersion of a believer in water as an act of obedience and a public declaration of faith. It symbolizes Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection and the believer’s new life in Christ.

The Lord's Supper
We believe the Lord’s Supper is a symbolic act of obedience in which believers remember the sacrifice of Jesus Christ through the bread and the cup. It proclaims Christ’s death and points to His return. Communion is intended for those who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ and are walking in fellowship with Him.
Gender Identity, Marriage, & Sexuality
We believe that God has ordained sex as part of His good and purposeful design, to be expressed exclusively within the covenant of marriage between one man and one woman. Any sexual activity outside of this design is contrary to God’s will and purpose.
We believe that God created humanity in His own image, distinctly male and female, and that gender is an essential aspect of His created order, determined at creation and not subject to change or personal redefinition.
We believe that marriage is the uniting of one man and one woman in covenant commitment for a lifetime, as instituted by God. Husband and wife are equal in worth and dignity before God, as both are created in His image, yet they are assigned complementary roles within the marriage relationship. The husband is called to love his wife as Christ loved the Church, exercising servant leadership, provision, and care. The wife is called to submit herself graciously to her husband’s leadership and to support him faithfully, as together they live in obedience to God for His glory.
